Forestry

A forestry team unique in Québec

Our company is solidly established in Bas-Saint-Laurent, and relies on responsible forestry to supply our sawmill in Causapscal. From cutting to sawing, we carry out each step to ensure the forest's conservation, development and sustainable use.

One of our greatest sources of pride remains the 1993 construction of our private forest road that spans over 35 kilometres. Our founder, Gilles Bérubé, accomplished this, and it still provides us with a great number of opportunities. We even have our own transport company for complete raw material management.

But the driving force behind Cedrico is our dedicated forestry technicians, operators, scalers, labourers, supervisors, mechanics, foremen and engineers. Day in and day out, everyone moves forward in the same direction with pride, and we’ve done so since 1977.

Our landscape, forest management, infrastructure and local wildlife contribute to the exceptional quality of our vast forest territory. The people who live in the Matapédia Valley region are committed to its use and are committed to the renewal of the various natural, forest and wildlife resources.

Responsible forestry speaks to us

The sound management of forest resources has been an integral part of our philosophy since arrival Bois d'oeuvre Cedrico’s arrival in Causapscal in 1986. We’ve implemented various measures to minimize the impacts of logging, such as using multifunctional machines, using non-polluting processes and recycling unused materials.

All forestry work planning and management operations comply with the Québec Ministry of Forests, Wildlife and Parks environmental standards. We meet the strictest environmental standards, and our focus is to protect the natural resource and not damage the substrate of young growing plants.

We collaborate with various organizations that share common values as we all strive to preserve our natural resources. Thanks to our open-mindedness and our concrete actions, we maintain a constant dialogue with all the players involved to ensure the quality of the forest we share.
